As no doubt loads of you know the OCUK ring trip is this month and i'm one of the foolish ppl who have agreed to put up with Dave's steak eating habbit for 5 days!

I'm taking the MX and will be doing the ring with the roof down, i really need a lid since i want to push on when i get used to the track, i want a cool one like the stigs anyone got any good recommendations / links?

:)

The main decision you need to make is whether to get a motorsport approved lid or not. If you decide not to then you'll have a much wider choice of designs and it'll probably work out cheaper. However if you feel you might want to have a go at sprinting or hillclimbing or something similar in the future then you'll need a motorsport appoved helmet for that and may as well get it now. These will be a bit more expensive and most are only available in plain white.

I personally went for one of these a couple of years ago:

Motorsport approved but still looks quite funky

The Stig's is an original Simpson Bandit, the ECE one is altered to have a more standard width visor so that it passess the EC safety regs for use on a motorbike..

.. the original Bandit helmet looks much cooler and would be legal to use in a car i think?
