There simply MUST be a website out there in which you can input a chord progression, and get an output in the form of what scales you can apply. Where is it? Please don't bother providing me with a link to google.

For example, inputting Em, D, C returns E minor etc.

Would be cool if you could then pick out a melody from the given scale to play on top.

You could start by learning the diatonic modes, then applying the minor ones in the key of Em, such as Phrygian or Aeolian.

It'll take you a few weeks to get your head around all that. ;)

You would be better getting a simple theory book telling you how chords are built from a scale in the first place, to understand completely what you're doing. The AB Guide to Music Theory by Eric Taylor has all of this in and more and is only a fiver.

Urg. Knew you were gonna say that. Learn modes. Fair enough. I can't be bothered figurring it out for a certain chord progression I have though, key changes have me stumped.

Is it coincidence that Satch has a new song called andelusia that just happens to sound a bit like andelusion btw? am i missing something here/?
