With all the growing issues over the internet lately I was looking for a way to add more security and privacy to home network, I came across VPN Ive never really bothered with it in the past but now i think its worth looking into.

I was wondering what it could do for me ?

What options do i have ?
Ive heard of people using openvpn and others use paid options like hot shield and cyberghost, ive also seen some people use Raspberry Pi with Opebvpn

Im looking for something fast that could keep up with my VM BB speed but still be secure.

Could anyone share some advice

What do you want to use the VPN for? Connecting to your home network whilst away from home, or as an anonymiser/proxy for your home internet connection?

I use Windows Server 2012's built-in VPN functionality for the former, but it took me a long time to figure it all out. I can provide instructions if that's the kind of thing you're after. I tried OpenVPN too but could never get it working, even with all the correct ports forwarded, etc. Might have another go at it at some point.
