Got 2 680's.

What and when? I'm in no rush, and current gen I don't think would make a huge difference. I only game on 1080p and like to aim for 120fps.

I've only got a 750w, so likely will up it 1000W over the coming weeks.

Well given the 680 and 7970's are relatively close in performance, I can speak from experience - your only real upgrade path at this point is a couple of 780's (or Ti's), a couple of Titans (or a Titan Z LOL) or going to the red team, a couple of 290's, 290X's or the 295x2.

That said, a single 780Ti or Titan Black will give you reasonably close levels of performance to your SLI setup on a single card. But overall your 680's will be faster until you reach the 2gb vram limits.

Yeah i got the 2gb cards, not a problem at the moment, but soon will be.

When do the next round of nvidia cards out? Thinking a single nvidia 8xx series, then SLI in the future.

Typically I just buy 2 top cards, but I don't think that is a wise move anymore.

I think you will be fine with your cards at 1080p for a while. I went from a 7970 to 2 x R9 290s but to be honest I didn't need to as my 7970 was fine at 1920x1200

thanks folks. I'll look for a top line 800 card, when they are out.

I'll get one, and then SLI further down the line.

I guess the 680's will be worth nothing then, maybe I'll chuck them in a a second machine.

I agree with the advice of waiting For the new 800 nvidia's or the next range of amd cards , Other than games that lock out 2GB or lower cards on some settings at 1080p you should be fine

AMD is announcing a New Radeons series in 2 days at computex.
could be a Ghz edition of the R9 290X at least i hope.
because AMD and Nvidia seem to be focused on low/mid end lately, with low wattage.
in any case only 1080p i doubt you have much of an issue with the 2Go memory

The 290X is already a Ghz Edition (1000Mhz)

The rumour is that card is a new low power card to replace the 280/X

not what i mean, but rumours say that a better memory and more efficient will allow to push more the core instead along with better cooler ref, if this is what they are gonna announce 4th june would be great.
the other thing they could announce is tonga Gpu, low wattage, which im not really that excited about, nvidia also going low end with GTX 740, their maxwell is low end so far too.

I have 2x 670's and also game at 1080p and I am waiting for next gen. Either for a next gen card, or to pick up some super cheap 780's/780Ti's.
