I'm a bit confused. you say the 60D is better performance and features but is a lower spec?

I'm probably being dim.

Don't suppose you could help with a few examples could you.

Can take more pictures per second, has better (bit) low light capabilities, next model up the Canon range so is built a bit better. Usually a 60D will beat a 600D for handling, though I'd test that out yourself...

@OP; Try out the Canon 60D, they're around the £650 mark body only.

I had the 500D. It was a very capable camera but it was built of cheap tacky plastic.

I am now rocking the 5D Mk ii so the difference is immense. To that guy who upgraded from 450D to 600D, that has to be one of the worse upgrade choices ever.

Out of interest what did you find limiting about the 500D that you believe the 5DmkII has resolved?
