Looking for particular phone related software

I was watching a program the other day about the bird man or something. Some crazy guy in a wingsuit basically. Anyway there was a part where he was calling his mum to tell her how he did but it was via his PC.

Is there a program for PC that I can connect my mobile phone to and make calls through it ?

i.e have the sound coming through the speakers and use a separate mic to talk.
Also be able to have my phonebook easily accessible in the same program and a text feature where I can use my PC keyboard to write and send messages.

I'd use google but I've no idea what the type of software would be called.

It will be the PC Software Suite that comes with most phones surely, ie Nokia Phone Suite xxx.

Mobiles in stead of GD?

Didnt really know where to post it. I thought about the software section but that was for issues with software. This isnt really an issue. Isnt entirely mobile based either.

I've got Nokia PC suite but it doesnt do what I want it to do.
