I need some help setting up a network. I had a look at the FAQ but I'm still none the wiser :(

I'd like to set up two PC's to share the same internet connection so that both can play Battlefield 2 at the same time or independently. My PC is currently connected to the Eclipse service using a Speedtouch modem, so is there any way my brothers PC can connect and play Battlefield at the same time as me or on his own without having my PC switched on?

if you purchase a wired/wireless adsl router (with built-in modem) then its possible.

if you go wired you'd need a straight through network cable and Network Cards in both of your machines, then you would connect the router using the network cable to each of the machines, and the phone cable goes into the router also, this would mean your PC doesnt require to be on if your bro wants on BF2 online or anything else. the other options is -
ICS - internet connection sharing
this means that again it needs network cable and network cards, but requires your pc to be on as its being used as a "router" sort of.
theres also wireless instead of wires if you prefer.

Thanks for the help mate :)

Would probably be going the wired route. Both of us have network adaptors built in to the motherboards but could you advise on which wired router with built in modem would be best for the situation?
