Looking for upgrade suggestions

It has been a very long time since I updated my rig and I think it's about damn time.

My current system has the following specs:
  • 2x MSI ATI Radeon HD 6950 OC Twin FrozR III Power Edition 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card
  • Corsair HX 850W ATX Modular SLI Compliant Power Supply (CMPSU-850HXUK)
  • Crucial RealSSD M4 64GB 2.5" SATA 6Gbs Solid State Hard Drive
  • Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9)
  • Corsair Hydro H60 CPU Cooler with free Akasa Apache Fan (Socket LGA1366 1155 1156 775 AM2 AM3)
  • Samsung SpinPoint F3 1TB SATA-II 32MB Cache - OEM (HD103SJ)
  • Asrock Z68 Extreme4 Intel Z68 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard
I want to spend as little as possible. Obviously I need a new graphics card. I only game on a 1080p monitor right now and am happy with it. So I don't want anything that's overkill but I'd like to also be able to comfortably play any game on the highest settings.

Other than recommending me a graphics card, do you guys have any other suggestions for things that might be important to upgrade?

Thanks

What CPU are you using? A 1060 would be quite a big GPU upgrade.

Oh I forgot to mention that. I have an i5-2500k cpu. It's also pretty old. Would the 1060 play most games on the highest settings at 1080p? Is there anything else you would suggest is an important upgrade for me?

I would make sure i5 2500k is overclocked to ~4.5Ghz. 8GB Rx 480's are great value now at ~£200 so that would be my choice to max out 1080p (pressuring you monitor is 60Hz).

For me I would definitely look to upgrade for a larger ssd as this would at least for me make a big difference.
