Looking Old and Amateur

Whats the best methods of taking professional pictures and making them look old and amateur?
Is there a tool in photoshop, or some transformations that can be applied to remove the clarity that one sees in digital images?
I guess I am looking for the opposite of the photoshopped effect.

Use Photoshop filters to add noise and blur it slightly maybe? Compress the image heavily? Re-sample it to a lower resolution?

These maybe just end up making it look like it was taken on a mobile phone tho

Do you mena a holga/lomo look? I.E often out of focus, grain, soft corners.

Right I am back on the noob wagon, photoshop actions, to what folder do i add them within photoshop elements 8?
