I recieved an email from Betfair the other week, inviting me to an "exclusive" tournament, with an online prize pool of $5,000, and the top 100 players are then invited to London to play a live tournament at citybunker, Canary Wharf. Prize pool for the live game is $10k, and i've made the top 100!

Still playing at the minute, 42 left in it, 570 entrants at the start. Feel so damn good right now, never played a proper tournament before, so it'll be an experience! :)

Doh, just tried to steal the pot with 6-K, called by 4-K and 2 4s appeared on the flop, out in 42nd. Roll on the 26th!

I won a tournament in Amsterdam Casino not so long ago, was about 4000euros.
 
Woah, nice one! Don't know the prize structure yet, or why I was invited to this tournament, but it'll be a couple of days off work anyway :p
 
nice one, ive been getting increasingly interested in poker lately since learning how to play (to a degree) good luck!
 
Awesome stuff. You must be pretty excited, I would be.

I only really got into online and then live poker around October time, so I'm a complete newb as I realise there is another whole world of strats in poker that isn't immediately obvious. If this is your first time live in a casino I'd strongly suggest you play some live poker beforehand so it's not your first time (prevent first-time gitters) and develop an understanding of what live games are like - it's completely different! Perhaps a cheap rebuy at your local casino for a night, I'm purely going on the topic name here to ascertain you've never played live in a casino.

I have mate who's pretty good at poker, he's been in few competitions and seems to do alright both online and at the table.
 
Good luck, I think I'm about to just put some cash into my full tilt account for the first time after not playing it for around a year! Hopfully I get a juicy bonus for whopping $50 in :p lol.

Trying so hard to convince my boss to let me go. She's not in the best of moods with me, so it's even harder to convince her! Just on the phone to Betfair at the mo, starts at 2pm on the 26th. No idea how the online prize pool worked, they're getting back to me in a minute with that one.

Matt1: That's a good idea, but the nearest casino to me is Torquay, a good hour plus drive away :o

The only live game I played was a tournament of 64 at my old workplace. I came second and wona huge Poker chip box set. The winner got an iPod.

Last hand was awesome, we both went all in, I had 2 Q's, he had 2 K's. It was pretty intense.

thegirl that would work for me is now busy the 26th. but im working on it lol

you might have to pay then ill pay you back few days after :s
