Lost odyssey - 4 disks?

Hi guys,

Why is Lost odyssey on 4 disks? This may sound like a really dumb question, but I've never played a console game with more than 1 disk before, how do these 4 disks actually get used? When you get to a certain point, will it ask you to change disk etc?

Basically yea,

its down to the sheer amount of FMV on each disk.
I've never played a game with more movies than actual game play.
The FF series is quite renowned for it but this game just has insane amounts!

Pretty good game though.

i need to play it but i havnt got 3 months to put to the side as ive heard its a massive game!

It's not that huge by JRPG standards tbh, i managed to get about 900 of the achievement points in less than 60 hours iirc.

As Wiggis said, it's purely down to the size of the FMVs. Also yes when you reach a certain point it'll ask you to insert the next disc and you continue on as normal.

Yep as already mentioned the disks are full. To install it you just install each disk as you play thorugh them (about 6 gigs each) - I really need to get back into it sometime, have reached disk 3
