I can't find any other threads on the subject (if I've missed it, please delete), so who just watched it on Sky?

Thoughts and opinions? I'm in sceptical mode after learning nothing for three years, but it seemed to start well.

The flash-forwards lead me to guess that six of the survivors get rescued (by the end of this season is my guess) but they leave everyone else behind and those six are keeping quiet that they know everyone else is back there. Then next season they'll go back to get everyone else.

i wish i didnt watch it. now i have to wait a week to find out what happens. should have waited and bought the box set

So let me get the story line straight.

Some people get lost, and it takes them 4 seasons of tv to find their way out?

Sounds like the producers are rinsing it for all it's worth.

(Creepy - As i was typing this the advert for LOST came on :o )

I was thinking about starting a thread on this myself, as nobody else had already done so.

Great start to the season, not too much of a 'catch-up', and got straight back into it :)

I think the fact that Charlie spoke to Hurley and knew he was dead leads me to believe these theories that the island is somesort of purgatory or something, on their way to death but not quite there yet, hence all the stuff about not being able to leave as it's meant to be a one way trip.

No spoilers past the UK episodes on Sky 1 would be mucho appreciated, else I'll be steering clear of this thread :)

Well Sky look like they're doing the sensible thing and showing episodes only a few days after the states, so not much room for non-UK spoilers.
This episode only aired on Friday in the states.

It'll be interesting to see if they continue with the flash forwards.

it may well be that charlie is all in hurleys head, with him being in a mental institution and all them psychoactive drugs, its plausible that they are hallucinations, remember , he can control the 'visions' by having Charlie disappear on a 5 countdown. and its obvious he is distraught by his death.

But they're not flash forwards are they? The 'flash-forwards' you talk about are now and the majority of what we've watched the last 3 seasons have been flash-backs.

my friends trying to get me into this

forced to watch season 1, maybe one day ill enjoy it >_>

Who is the guy at the end?

The guy that comes out of the helicopter, Jacks face makes it look like he knows him?

Seems like its going to be a great season, might not watch anymore as its annoying waiting a week for every episode.

After waiting far too long I am so glad it is back!

As it was the first episode I didn't expect any major revelations but it was pretty good at getting the series rolling. I am hoping there will be a lot more of the paranormal goings on in this series, which in this episode there were a lot of.

I hate waiting a week for the next ep :(

Pretty much. Why say something in one series when you can pad it out with cheesy crap and keep milking the Lost cash-cow's teats for 6 series of 24 episodes?

I dont care what people say about multiple seasons, theres 7 of 24.. and i still enjoy that too.

Good first episode but they decided to lie again "questions will be answered".. err.. sure.. some.. but now i have a million more!

how far are we allowed to go into spoilers? ie, can we talk about who jacob is, what things in the backgroun mean, what peoples names are anagramed to?

I want to talk about so much :(

If you are talking about the figure seen sitting in the chair, he was also seen in the previous season when Locke was in the hut. I never clocked it as being Jacks dad though.
