I have two machines;
1. Workstation and gaming machine
2. PC based NAS
3. DLink 323 NAS (Torrent box).
I have the following HDD;
WD Caviar Green 3.5" 1.5TB x 5
Seagate barracuda 3.5" 7200.9 1.5TB
WD Blue 2.5" 250GB
WD Blue 3.5" 320GB
Samsung F1 3.5" 400GB
Kingston SSD Now V 128 2.5" 128GB
WD Black 3.5" 500GB x2
Suggestion;
Machine 1.
Kingston SSD - Boot
WD-Black 500GB x2 - Fast array (RAID0)
Seagate barracuda 1.5TB - Storage
Machine 2.
WD Blue 320GB - Boot (Centos - Linux)
WD Blue 250GB - Upload (staging for files being copied to the NAS over the network). Upload is automated from the Dlink overnight.
WD CGreen 1.5TB x5 - NAS storage - RAID5 or RAID10
Machine 3.
Samsung F1 400GB - Boot / Storage.
Any other suggestions. I am happy to sell some drives but due to their limited market value for the ones I would sell it seems a waste. Considering selling the 2 WD Blacks & SSD and getting two vertex II 60GBs.
