Loving My 4850 X2 2GB :)

Hey everyone,
Just thought I use up a bit of free time to tell you about the 4850 X2; it's excellent. Runs all of my games on full [I've only just got into PC gaming, so I haven't got any of the big titles yet] and it runs very cool and quiet. Vista rates it at 5.9

My processor is the only component below 5.7

All in all it's excellent; the Catalyst software is ace, and I've got my monitors set up just the way I want. Very pleased

Has anyone else got the same card as me? I'd love to hear some other opinions.

I was going to buy one but i really wanted the 4870 x2 which i am getting tomoz.

I heard the card was awfull until drivers last month came out.

I only just got mine, so I don't know. I'll install 3DMark when I get home and see how it gets on. I've read that the 4870 equivalent is a lot louder, and you do get a 5 monitor outputs with the 4850 X2. And loads of CDs, the game demos are awesome. A suite of DVD players and burners [can't remember the brand

If mine runs what I throw at it, which I'm sure it will after a bit of overclocking, then I'll be happy with it. Let me know how you get on with yours. Cheers, Chris.

My 4870 x2 is quiet its the tri-fan edition runs 24 degrees cooler than he reference 4870 x2's

i get 21,000 3Dmark 06 with my spec in my sig. thats on a single 4870X2

ok no need to get umpty lol he was just saying his score with his card was 21,000 on 3dmark.

yeah true - was a bit harsh, but in all fairness there are threads here specifically for bragging rights.

And there's always ORB which is great.

Easy fellas!

I'll have a go at 3DMark when I get back from work, and post my score on here. I'm overclocking it a bit on CCC, I OC'd it full for a bit but I started getting little glitches during game play, so I went a bit more sensible. In the reviews I read the 4850 and 4870 X2's are pretty close in the benchmark tests, and the 4850 actually did better in some. And I do love the 4 DVI ports, however silly it may seem

What speed are you running the fan, because I heard the card was loud as hell?

i wouldnt beleive all the reviews you hear mate.

Bit tech have a good review on the 2.

Shows the 4870 x2 gets a far few fps more in a lot games.

I got mine a couple of months ago. I went from a 8800 Ultra and after getting used to the whole ATI thing I love it. CCC is easy to use and the card is amazing. It really comes into its own when using AA. I can now run everything I play (pretty much) with 4X AA without losing more than 1 or 2 fps which I really like

I got 16713 with my 4850 X2 @ stock in the system in my sig. Not a massive increase above the 13653 i got with an overclocked Ultra. It does kick some ass in vantage though, P11418 at stock for the 4850x2 against P8437 for the ultra @ stock (P9037 ultra overclocked)

It does get quite loud as it approaches 45-50% but to tbh It hasent ever gone above it. I haven't started to play around with overclocking it yet though. I'll just have to get some sweet headphones

At the OP, I'm glad you like yours mate as I was beginning to think I might be the onlyone who bought one! Don't bother with the 9.3's though. I've had quite a drop in performance in Warhead and clear sky. I've gone back to the 9.2's.

i provided mine so you had something to compair too. nothing to do with bragging at all and too be honest a lot of people here get a lot more than 21,000 so what have i got to brag about? the worlds most average score?

Dont worry bout it mate, is a good score, i have my 4870 x2 coming tomoz im not sure what a good score for the 4870 x2 would be.

What are your system specs?
