Low profile remote socket

Setting up a potting shed for my other half and have run an outside extension lead from one of our outside sockets to a IP54 rated box inside the shed.

Plan was to have some led fairy lights as well as an Amazon Alexa Dot for listening to the radio / music.

I thought it would be a nice touch to have a socket that could turn the fairy lights on and off with the Alexa but I need a socket that's relatively low profile.

Including the power strip and transformer for the lights I've got about 4cm to play with. Anyone able to measure up existing sockets they have or know of any that might fit the bill?

What "box" have you got in the shed? better bet might be to just use a big enough box to fit larger plugs? especially if you want fairy lights with big transformer plug, into a remote plug, into an extension lead?

They do make purpose made enclosures that come with an extension lead inside or if you need bigger then buy a bigger ip rated adaptable box

unless you already have this and its just not deep enough for the remote plug aswell?

Yeah, exactly that. Although it's "inside" a shed I figured it would make sense to use an outside rated plastic box cover thing. Keeps it neat, but more importantly, meets the partner's expectations!

The box itself is about 11cm deep. So with 4 gang extension lead (~3cm deep), LED light adapter (~4cm), I've got about 4cm left to play with.

Looking at the Smartthings plug adapters they're listed as 4.5cm deep... I'm thinking of taking the plunge and just bending the casing around it to make it work :)
