M-Audio sound card not detected/driver problem?

Hi all.

I installed my M-Audio Audiophile 192 soundcard into my new(ish) Vista build today and for some reason Vista didn't automatically detect it and install drivers like it normally does with a PCI device.
I went into Device manager and I can see "Multimedia Audio Controller" under "Other devices" (see the screenshot below) which I presume is the soundcard.
In properties it's saying the drivers for the device are not installed, so I went onto the M-Audio website and downloaded the only driver for Vista 64bit which is a BETA driver. It all installed OK but in device manager it's still showing as no drivers for that Multimedia audio controller...

Any help would be appreciated. I'm hoping the card isn't dead because it was dropped a few weeks ago onto a hard floor...:(

What does the M Audio website say? Do you have to install the drivers first and then stick the card in?

What setup are you trying to use it with btw?

Weird, I just clicked update driver in properties and Vista managed to install a driver - no idea which one but it seems to be working fine now!

Thanks anyway.
