In this country we do like to shut motorways. I bet some of the HATO's and Police officers that help make the decisions love a good old closure. A lot of the time it's unnecessary and does cause huge delays. The M25 where I commute gets shut a lot. Often it's because something "might" be fatal, they have to take evidence of the road and draw pictures with crayons and stuff. No they don't do this. They just like to take their time with their doughnuts.

How deeply embarrasing. I can perhaps understand a how over-reaction for the sake of caution if it was a plane but.... a Megabus?
Besides what was the lead time between the event and the police attendance in force at a location such as the M6 Toll? Surely the fact nothing had happened by the time they arrived was a big clue!
