Macbook Pro 13 (Mid 2012) USB-2 - USB-3.0 or USB-C Info.

Hello all. I have just purchased a MacBook Pro 13 (Mid 2012).
It has 2x USB-2.0 slots and a single Thunderbolt 2 slot.
I am looking for a converter or hub that will allow me to upgrade from USB-2.0 to USB-3 or USB Type C.

Is there such a thing or is there a work around?

You can use usb a-c cables but it will always run at usb2 speeds

Mid 2012 should be USB-3 5Gbps (USB-A connector though)

Thanks. I'm a little confused as I have: About this Mac/System Report/USB/USB Device Tree: USB-2.0 Bus/Hub - FaceTime Camera. Then I have USB-2.0 Bus/Hub. Then I have USB-3.0 Bus and that's it
So do I have 2x USB-2.0 and 1x USB-3.0 or is one of the USB-2.0 Hubs also a USB-3.0 Hub?

Sorry my bad. The MBP 2012 has usb3 ports.
Don’t worry about the device tree.

Some devices will be connected as “USB” internally but they’re not actual ports.

Thanks that seems to sort that out then. BTW is there an app that can test speed of the USB ports. I have 3 or 4 USB Sticks, all USB 3.0 I just wanted to check them out. Thanks again folks. I'm a bit old in the tooth to be changing from Windows ever since MSDOS days. Cheers
