Asking for some help for a friend.
Today he upgraded his CPU from a Sempron to an X2 64 however now the PC won't boot from the hard drive into Windows and it also won't boot from the DVD drive with the XP disc in.
Components:
AMD X2 64 4800
ALive NF4G Mobo
Same RAM and everything as before when it was working fine with the old CPU.
He can get into the BIOS and the temps are all ok (39c on CPU) and it will boot and start to POST but after it detects the hard drive and disk drive it then freezes with no error and requires a hard shutdown/restart. He checked all the connections to make sure they were in properly but he isn't able to get Windows or the XP disc to boot!
Any help would be much appreciated.
