:mad: Paypal holding my money for 21 days

Have you tried emailing them and telling them?

When they didnt realease my funds I emailed them and they did asap.

I think I will send them email/telephone them and see what happens.:(

Lol paypal phone service sucks. The stupid tape voice is very annoying. I entered all the relevant details as required on the phone and when it came to my phone, computer couldn't recognize my account. I have been trying for 15 minutes and still couldn't get through to the operator:mad:.

I expect the issue here is that RM Recorded is not a trackable delivery system.
Many times the package is left at the destination without a signature or the postman will even sign it.
Recorded is really no safer than standard 1st class - just has a slightly higher compensation value.

As in Paypal's T&C's you should use a trackable service - something like RM Special Delivery, DHL Home etc.
These are all fully trackable, you can always find out where the package is and you can see the chain of delivery.
There also has to be a signature at the other end.

The amount of people who go on about Paypal still amazes me.
I've been using them since they started up and I've never had a single problem with them as long as I've followed their T&C's on what you should and shouldn't do.
I've had three disputes raised against me via Paypal and I've won every one as each time I was able to provide a tracking number for a fully trackable service which confirmed delivery.

Why are you mad, it's clear in the t&cs for new ebay members.
Also first class is not a verified delivery service. You need parcel or RM SD.

This is a good thing, how many times do you see new sellers from a certain part fo the world, selling high end goods with no feedback. This period of time gives the buyer a chance to raise the alarm if there is a problem. Yes I know your not trying to scam anyone, but this is another case of the few spoiling it for the many.

Can you not contact the buyer and ask for positive feedback?

I have been reading about it on some forums and somebody suggested that it is not a good idea to contact buyer to leave feedback after an item has been sold. I already reminded him during the transaction and he did say that he will leave feedback but he hasn't.

It has been a week now and I feel a bit apprehensive in contacting him again for the feedback:(.

This. A wonderfull ebay 1st sale with a bad taste in the mouth.

Why, if you read the terms, you would now this and will be the case until you have X-amount of feedback. I can't see how you can have a bad taste, when you should have known this before you sold it.

I think this has been a learning experience not to use paypal as a seller again.
If you don;t very few people will bid on your items and you will lose a great deal of money. You just have to read and follow the rules.

PayPal = heaven for buyers.
PayPal = hell for sellers.

No, if you follow guidelines properly asides from the fees PayPal is fine (but I guess you have to pay for the exposure offered).

There is loads of irrational hatred for PayPal and eBay but most of it stems from people not doing things correctly.

Never had a problem with Paypal. They held 2 of my transactions for a few days till I got feedback and have sold about 20 items in the last 6 weeks including international and high value and no probs...

Wish they would use "faster payments" for withdrawing your cash but hey-ho

I think the buyer is being problematic. If he had left feedback then whole thing would have been smooth.

It still is smooth. maybe on holiday. Hasn't had a chance to test, or any number of other things. You will still get it at the end and once you have enough feedback it won't happen. Read t&c especially seller protection.

I have been on paypal for years and never have any problems now.

Only had a similar issue when I first signed up as at the time you couldn't have a verified address outside of the USA.

Bad taste in your mouth because you didn't read through the T&C's before you started.
With so many people out there ready to scam it's a good thing new sellers have funds witheld.
How exactly would you be feeling right now if you sent a new seller £200 via Paypal and didn't get the item.
Then on complaining you were told the guy has already taken his money - tough.

Do you often do things without reading the terms & conditions?
Don't you like to know what you are agreeing to before you click that "Yes" button?
