I'm after a bit of help from you folks please, I'm trying to source a mainboard for a new home media server, but arkward requirements are meaning I'm struggling to find anything really suitable, I'm hoping someone else might have better luck!

Basically, the requirements are,

*Intel based board to take a coreII processor
*At least two PCI-E 1x slots
*At least 3 legacy PCI slots
*At least 6 SATA ports with RAID capablity
*Gigabit ethernet controller

I know its a tough one, but anyone know a board that meets these requirements?

Remember that PCI-E x1 will work in a PCI-E x16 port. so most mobos have that. What do you need the PCI ports for? Obviously you could get a PCI hard disk controller to give you extra ports, but you'd lose a PCI port.
What's your budget?

PCI-E 16x would be taken up by graphics (unless of course the board came with two, or onboard graphics, etc, in which case I see what you are saying), so just two spare PCI-E ports after graphics :)

PCI-E boards bascially just for future expansion, legacy PCI ports for a couple of TV tuner cards we have, and one spare.

Budget, I was hoping to get a board for less than £80, but if need be I can be flexable on that!

Unless your actually going to use it general use. You wont need a graphics card just onboard graphics would be suitable it think.

IIRC some of the Asus P5K series motherboards might fit the requirement

yup, p5k, 2x pci-e 16x
2x pci-e
3x pci

However, I think some of the slots aren't usable together (iirc you can't use one of the pci slots when the pci-e slot next to it is in use), which i believe is a common problem due to the motherboard layouts/case designs.

And anything from 6 to 10 sata ports depending on the exact model
