Hello,

I am visiting the USA in the summer with my girlfriend and her folks, and we are hoping to take in a baseball game one evening. As we are in LA, we are thinking of going to see the LA Dodgers on Tuesday 28th August vs. the Washington Nationals. I have a few generic baseball based questions to ask:

1) Is it best to pre-book for the game or will turning up on the night be ok?

2) The game we are wanting to watch is on in the second evening of 3 in a row, why do they play 3 days in a row?

3) What are the best value tickets generally at a baseball game for someone who has never been before. Bearing in mind cost to viewing area. Also, please refer to this question as a spectator not as someone wanting to go and photograph to heavily

Any help on one or all three of these topics would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Tom

I know the answer to 2, the baseball season is made up of 162 games (or something like that) so it makes sense to stay in the same place to play all your games against that opponent rather than flying to a different place in the US every day.

They also like playing a series as opposed to a single game for some reason, for example the world series is 7 games long rather than just one like the Superbowl.

You shouldn't have any problems getting tickets on the day, most of the team shops sell spare tickets for not much above face value. I've watched games from all angles and would definitely recommend a seat between 1st and 2nd base, even if it's in the Gods it's the best place to watch.

Not sure what Dodgers are like but I'd assume they don't sell out most games. Whenever I've gone to see Red Soxs I've purchased the tickets online via MLB.com since the soxs sell out every game.

You print the tickets from the site and take them with you, when you enter the print out has a barcode that is read at the gate. If you want to be on the safe side purchase them via this method.
