Major Pipex issues ?

We have a dedicated server hosted with Donhost (now owned by Pipex).

The server has almost no connectivity with ping times up in the 1600s if at all.

I notice that the following major websites appear v.slow as well....

http://webfusion.co.uk/ (owned by Pipex)
http://www.hosting-support.pipex.net/

Is there a major pipex isssue at the moment ?

All the tech support numbers I am calling are constantly engaged which seems to imply that there is.

Is there anybody here that has found out what is going on and can tell me what is up and when it will be fixed ?

I don't know about any major issue, but i can confirm that those sites are incredibly slow here. (BT OfficeMax adsl)

Yes, Pipex are having massive connectivity problems . See below

Dear Customer,

There is currently a problem affecting the Pipex core network. The issue has been caused by a high order failure on Global Crossings network. Global Crossing provide the high bandwidth circuits that provide connectivity between the networks based in Manchester and Leeds. Pipex engineers are working to implement a contingency plan to improve network connectivity between Manchester and Leeds and the core network in London.

We will update further when more information is available.
