Making a speaker quieter

hi guys

i have a bit of a dilemma with my speakers, and basically i need to make 2 play quieter than the other 2, but they both run off the same amp and volume control...

is it possible to stick some sort of resistor in the way? if so how would i go about it?

You are running 4 speakers off of a 2 channel amp?

Could you not connect the speakers in a way that you could just use the balance control? That's what I do anyway. Yeah it's annoying when your sitting closer to one speaker and all you can really hear is that one speaker.

yes, i have them in parallel - it works fine and hasn't blown up and has been like it for some time

i cant afford another amp so theres no other option

i could try the balance control actually, theres no need for stereo, will give it a go thanks
