Does anyone else remember the man that was on TV with constant hiccups.

I think there was possibly a thread about it here, anyway he has finally been cured it seems.

Slightly worrying all it took was an MRI scan. After 2 years off hiccups I would be annoyed to say the least.

Made my day a bit better after smashing my iphone screen (No insurance, Apple Store wants £150) :(

Would love to see his face the next time he gets hiccups!

Seriously though, that would be horrible, bet people couldn't stand to be around him. I used to get easily annoyed when my ex got hiccups, it was only for 10 minutes but seemed like an eternity!

"After finding that hiccups could be linked to brain tumours, he went to visit a doctor."

And they never gave him an MRI scan?

I get slightly worried whenever I get hiccups, but thankfully they always go.

My mate is into fixing Xbox 360s and has recently done an iphone, thinks he can do it for £30. Brap!

He tried yoga, hypnotherapy, acupuncture, pickled plums, mustard, vinegar and every single way you could imagine to drink water but now Chris Sands, the man who suffered hiccups for over two and a half years, has finally been cured.

A teaspoon of Vinegar always works for me. Stops it dead as soon as i drink it. Everyone i tell this to thinks its a joke and wont try it.

I have just had the same surgury for chronic heartburn. It burnt like a **** and put me in a foul mood.

I now have no heartburn ever:) I walked the same way as the hiccups guy for a week after the operation.
I cannot even begin to think how painful artharitis (sp?) is!

Swalling was hard but every day it gets easier. As it is still a bit hard to burp I often get the 'trapped gas' feeling higher up in the intestine as gas is there that was never burped out.

EDIT: Rarely get hiccups though but I did have the PH test and camera test

When I seen the ad for it I laughed to myself for like 5 seconds and then actually thought what it would be like to have that problem. Would be pretty awful to say the least.

Yeah watched this on Bbc iplayer. Quite shocking that the UK didnt find his tumor yet one day in Tokyo its discovered!

In one day of examinations they found what the NHS couldn't find in two years.

Yes, he probably got special attention but still. A few hours with their specialist, 1 mri late and cause found. Fair play to him having the operation here though. NHS isnt perfect, but I bet the jap doctors got all the best hi tech equipment.

I'm amazed you managed to a get a referal in this country, I've been trying to get a referal for gastric reflux for ages, but my GP is a total **** and won't refer me instead telling me he can offer lansoprazole and metoclopramide, a drug which causes tardive dyskinesia.
