Got up to the Lake District the other week (was really lucky with the weather, never rained at all for the 5 days we were up there) & stumbled across this little fella when we were at an Osprey viewing point near Bassenthwaite Lake:

First time out in the wild with my new 350D & the first time I've seen a badger in the wild. Had to wait for around 20 mins to see this little fella show himself. Although we could hear him & another badger ruffling around in the bracken. He was crunching nuts left for the birds initially on a tree stump but the pics I took hand-held were blurred due to a slow shutter speed caused by the failing light.
I had to resort to using ISO 1600 as the light was failing fast after sunset so it's a bit grainy.
I wished I had more than my kit 18-55m kit lens as well.
I had my 350D on a tripod & was at obviously at the full 55mm end of the range. I shot this AP using f5.6 which gave me a shutter speed in the failing light of 0.6 secs. Luckily he heard my shutter & turned around for this pic but I think he's still abit blurred due to his movement at the slow shutter speed. The only post-processing was a bit of cropping & auto-levels in PS.

Just thought I'd share this pic with you guys. I've got a 300mm SIGMA lens (only a budget one) now so I'm hoping for some good wildlife shots in the future.

Any tips/critique on the above shot would be appreciated.
