Manchester Bombing *** Please remain respectful and refrain from antagonising posts ***

Why do you consider the West the good guys? Notice these sort of attacks (assuming it was an eastern bomber) never happened until the West started bombing the east relentlessly?

How many innocent people killed overseas by the western governments does it take before some mad idiot responds and starts killing innocent westerners :(

Killing anyone should not happen, this world needs to have a word, this endless 'war on terror' is a complete farce, lies and is only resulting in truly horrendous events happening.

Stop the wars, stop the killings, stop terrorist attacks, it's 2017 I can't believe humanity still does this.

Whoever did the Manchester killings tonight, they need bringing to justice, if it was a suicide bomber who is now dead, then go after the people that helped them.

We at least vaguely try to prevent/minimise innocent collateral damage compared to this which is the absolute polar opposite.

That's not really relevant, as Saddam also used Arab nationalism more so than religion.

Also worth wonderding what exactly changed globally that saw a rise in the terrorism threat
The whole book is very relevant.... Also the west learnt nothing from the soviet union 9 year war in Afghanistan.

There'd be even less collateral damage/innocent deaths if we didn't start unnecessary wars tho :p It's not like we have a history of getting the result we wanted when we do.

e: That includes taking sides in civil wars, arming rebel groups, assassinations, etc.

I'm far from an expert on these things but I suspect that flattening their entire country, families and all, may have something to do with it.

Yeah that was mostly for the "religion of peace" folk who tend to have a narrow understanding of why **** like this is happening.

I can't imagine what people there are going through. Lots of kids injured

I can only imagine the horrors the younger generations have seen and continue to see in countries such as Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya and Syria. :( I also don't doubt this is what will have caused "some/many" to then join terrorist organizations.

In war torn areas like those children are more than likely forced into it at gun point.

Increasingly easy global movement of people - none of this is particularly new or entirely down to the West's more recent foreign policy. It is a far more complex story going back far longer than the last 2-3 decades.

I actually find it kind of vile how a small number try to pin it exclusively on more recent events.

Why the hell is the US news getting updates before we do?

US officials leaking details quicker than UK officials.

NBC News: Forensic evidence at the scene including a body found at the blast site indicates that this was a suicide attack.

GMP press conference due in a moment.

Sure so the events of slaughtering people in their own countries and others in the middle east are totally the fault of airstrike bombings by the Americans/Europeans and totally nothing to do with their "ideology"

You say "We" a lot. Do you stand by your countries actions?

Half these people arent from these coubtries though.

What does some pakistani descendent born in the EU have to do with iraq in most cases?

No new updates from Manchester police.

NBC have been quite on the ball so far, latest:

UK law enforcement officials and US officials briefed on the investigation say that there's been a tentative ID on the bomber.

They're working on the assumption it's a suicide bomber.
