There ye go again lads, I remember the same response after every atrocity during the troubles. After an IRA attack the nationalists would say but remember what the Loyalists/Brits did and after a Loyalist attack the Unionists would justify it by saying yea but IRA did this to us.

It took a groundswell of revulsion at these atrocities for things to slowly change. It could no longer be acceptable or an excuse regardless of what had happened in the past to kill innocent people.

If this is indeed a terrorist attack, they and they alone are responsible for it.

RIP to the poor souls who lost their lives tonight.
 
If there is one thing we can count on is that there will be a union jack displayed on the side of some building, flowers placed down and candles lit. People will say prayers and Facebook profile pictures will have a UK filter put on them and we can sit and wait for the next attack.
 
Nigel Farage was just on Fox News via telephone.

He mentioned that immigration needs to be a real priority in the upcoming election, and not just brushed under the carpet.

I totally agree with him.

Aren't the terrorists normally UK born though(at least the one who attack the UK that is)? What good will talking about immigration do then :confused:.
 
Its really weird comming to this thread 20+pages late.

Yep, and you will notice most of these are aimed at offending the smallest number of people.
 
The UK needs its own Guantanamo. Round up every single person that has been flagged on MI5 systems with links to extremism and subject them to some intense questioning indefinitely. I guarantee this attacker is probably on some sort of watch list, but of course never quite watched closely enough...

I'm a liberal. From my own perspective I just keep thinking "why doesn't anyone realise that all of these problems come from religion?". If we just did away with Islam, Christianity, Judaism and any other religion the world would be a much better place. Unfortunately people are so beholden to their beliefs that any attack on their beliefs is seen as a direct attack on them as individuals. It is ridiculous.

It really is sad that in a country that allows free speech people are afraid of ******* someone off or being labelled a bigot or racist for having an opinion.

Islam is not a race.
I'm getting tired of religion now actually, haven't we evolved enough to realise that it's all man made and we are just primates? Or should we keep fighting in the name of someone we have no proof exists?
This world is dumb. I want to be frozen and thawed out when people wake up.
 
Sadly this will only change when the communities from which these Terrorists come from stand up and say enough is enough. Like we had in Ireland, there are a minority in these communities that support/enable these hateful attacks. There needs to be brave decent people willing to speak up within the community, real leadership.

Unfortunately I can already hear the excuses from some of your Terrorist supporting politicians like Jeremy corbyn.
 
So sad to see this is going on so close to home for many of us.

Sorry to all of the parents and family's involved.

Now our leadership needs to make the best decision they can to rectify this if it is a confirmed attack.

The problem is u have a terrorist Muslim faction in this country just like France and Holland who live their insulated lives and the majority of which contribute zero to our society.
im Sikh and Muslims slaughtered over a 100 million Hindus during the Mogul rule in India. I say that to all the idiots who blame foreign policy for these incidents.
