Manchester Bombing *** Please remain respectful and refrain from antagonising posts ***

Awful :( hearing some of the stories on Radio 4 this morning was just terrible. RIP to the deceased.

"Little girls are dying because men aren't saying what needs to be said" - Mike Cernovich.

Very sad news. I just wish the powers that be would actually take real action against this sort of thing rather than just token efforts.

I wasnt even sure what the noise was last night were a bit further out of town sounded like a thud.

No "God" is going to welcome you if you are such an ***hole as to specifically target children with attacks. Absolutely disgusting.

Kevin Maguire of the Daily Mirror says a political solution will happen with worldwide Islamic terrorism, no it won't, it definitely won't.

Surely there will be a load of CCTV in and around the arena location so shouldnt be too hard to track the individual involved.

I feel like I can predict the rest of todays events

GMP will issue a statement saying the suspect was know to the intelligence community
Teresa May will give a speech strongly condemning the attack

Question, what lessons did we learn from the last terror attack, or even the one before that?

What can actually be done to prevent this from happening again?

I honestly think the truth is, nothing, not for Lone Wolf attacks (like this appears to be), unless we're willing to move to something resembling V for Vendetta anyway.....

Went to bed early last night so woke up to an alert on my phone at 6am this morning. Half asleep I just wasn't taking it in. The live feed I saw talked about tributes coming from the US and Australia and it must have been a good minute when I actually saw a map that I realised this was Manchester MEN in the UK.

Was a frequent visitor to that venue in my 20's and I just feel sorry for concert goers in future having this at the back of their minds and having to walk over a spot were so many people died.

As above, if this is lone wolf, what can be done really other than something hugely draconian?

Lee Dodderidge a former member of the National Counter Terrorism Security Office.
"He told Radio 5 live: "Alarms bells for me are ringing at the moment because this would have appeared to have taken quite considerable amount of planning."

""Albeit, some people may look at it and say is this lone wolf, it does indicate there was a lot of planning put into this attack."

Just heard about this. Absolutely awful - this is an evil, evil thing to do, and to target children what a *******.

Makes people paranoid to do anything - what next the NEC, the Ricoh Arena, a football match? Those poor people involved.

I'm no expert but it seemed somewhat competently put together if it was TATP and people with those kind of skills tend to let others do the blowing themselves up bit for them.

Me and my GF were going to book tickets to go to this concert only a couple of weeks ago...crazy to think what could have happened if I went.

RIP to all of those who lost their lives. The world can be a disgusting place.
