Perhaps there wasnt enough staff or resources to do anything about it
depends what you want them to do - counter terrorism funding has been increased and is probably a bigger priority than ever

But there aren't any armed soldiers on the street are there? I was under the impression that the Army was drafted in to replace armed police units who normally protect buildings, thereby freeing them to "roam the streets" as you put it.It makes me chuckle when you have a armed soilder on the street with 10 weeks basic training under their belt roaming the streets with a loaded fully automatic weapon where as a police officer has a good 6 months if not more.
It's all very extreme, all part of project fear I guess.

Good old Queenie. Must be a lovely and amazing moment for the kids in their time of suffering to get a bedside visit from the Monarch. She comes across as a very warm person.

It would very interesting to see some statistics on how many foiled terrorist plots there are each year.
That's awfully rich coming from you I'd say.Just ignore the ever increasing Islamic bodycount and keep pushing your paranoid right-wing bogeyman. You sound utterly unhinged.

How dreadful - my sincere condolences. I hope their injuries heal well as well as possible or, if they didn't make it, that the memory of their character will brightly outshine the memory of their demise.Turns out I know one of the victims.
This is depressing.
The local (Muslim) community repeatedly made the police aware of the bomber's activity and nothing was done.

What would you have the authorities do? If they'd have done anything the human rights brigade would have been out in force claiming discrimination and Islamophobia. Unless you're prepared to take the necessary steps, which clearly we aren't as a nation yet, then you need evidence before anything can be done. This is depressing.
