I was actually thinking about what you said when I saw how we lined up against Stoke in midweek. The system worked perfectly today and to an extent, against Stoke on Wednesday (although none of Jones, Delap, Etherington or Shawcross started that game).
I'm not convinced that this will be our prefered system though. With the loss of Torres and neither Carroll or Suarez being ready to play from the off, the system has almost picked itself as with Kuyt moving central, we've got little to no wide players.
With Suarez soon to be ready to start and Carroll regaining his fitness, I still think we'll end up playing a 4-3-3 with 3 of from Maxi, Kuyt, Suarez and Carroll in the forward positions.
