Manny Pacquiao vs Antonio Margarito **SPOILERS**

How was the fight not stopped? His eyes were virtually shut and that cut under his right eye was a shocker. Pacman even said he just let the last round run out because he didn't want to do anymore damage.

a couple of years ago the chat on a good boxing forum revolved around what Mayweather had to do to become an all time great. The conclusion was that he needed to beat Hatton, Cotto and Margarito to cement his legacy. While there was talk of Mosley, he went on to lose to Cotto.

The irony is that Mayweather had the attributes to defeat all three and did take out Hatton, but Pacquiao should never have been able to defeat all three in such emphatic fashion. Even if Mayweather defeats Manny, I cannot see him usurping his place in history now. Pac is a living legend and Mayweather has missed his chance to take this crown imo.

I fully agree. Mayweather had the talent and skill to beat all those in his weight division, yet for one reason or another he chose not to fight them, and in the end it was Pacquaio who has literally taken them all apart. It's easy to look back now and say well, they weren't that great, Mayweather would have beaten them... yes he would have, but he didnt. I don't know whether he didn't believe in himself enough, whether he thought the risk simply wasn't worth it, but whatever the reason, he has been outdone by the greatest fighter of this decade - Manny Pacquaio.

One more fight for Manny, ideally against Mayweather and then he needs to retire. It would be a shame for his legacy to be ruined because he continues to fight after he is way past it, he has too many other commitments now.

Have you watched many of mayweathers fights?????

Hes fought a massive amount of the best fighters in the world.

Its easy to criticise. You try stepping into the ring

Lol you sound like a prat, why would I step into a ring if I am not a boxer? Is it only boxers who can comment on boxing?

Mayweather is an exceptionally talented boxer, in my opinion he is a better boxer then Pacquiao but his lack of taking risks and fighting dangerous opponents has meant as SpeedFreak put it - he has missed his chance at taking the crown. Even if Mayweather beats Pacquaio I don't think it will tarnish Pacmans legacy one bit now.

There were points in the fight where Margarito would get Pacquiao against the ropes, maybe land a couple of punches, and I'd think "Oh hang on, maybe he's got something here."

Then Pacquiao would just shimmy out of the way, punching as he went, and unleash at least five or six ridiculously quick punches on him. Like it was nothing.

Manny is something else. Best boxer out there.

I have just watched the fight again, and think Manny Pacquiao now has to genuinely be considered as the greatest boxer of all time.

I cant think of any other fighter that can take the best in the world apart like he can.

No question he is the best fighter on the planet between 130 and 160 pounds, but what know, a middleweight title ? LOL

Just finished watching this, a bit of a disappointment really... I expected and hoped that Margarito's size and strength would pose more of a problem for Manny and we would get a great fight out of it, as it was we got a great display from Manny but it wasn't a memorable fight by any means.
I don't think anyone now can doubt Pacquiao's ability, he is just such an amazing athlete, I don't believe there is anyone out there now who can beat him.

Definately somewhere up there.

Not only the fact he wins, more the manner in which he does so. Looking at his last 5 fights, where he has fought guys considered bigger and stronger then him..

De La Hoya - Mayweather got a close decision, Pacman ripped him to shreds
Hatton - Mayweather beat him, Pacman obliterated him
Cotto - obliterated him
Clottey & Margarito - 2 very tough durable fighters, Pacman totally dominates them

Pacquaio vs Mayweather has to be next, along with Haye vs Klitscho!

Awesome, awesome fight. Fair play to Margarito for staying in there, Pacman yet again proved he is one of the all time greats.

Time for Mayweather to stop tucking, and get this fight on.

Hardly a great fight considering Margarito didn't win a single round imo, but that said it was a great display of Pacquiao's unbelievable speed and skill.

If you want to see an awesome fight may I suggest people watch Rafael.Marquez.Vs.Juan.Manuel.Lopez, now that was a proper fight :-)

The problem is Mayweather looks like he will be spending a few years in jail, as it seems his wife and the police are pressing charges.

From what I understand, he could looking at 5-10 years in jail.

Actually it could be longer now. What a tit.

I don't think he will. Bigger problem is his uncle Roger. His trainer. He beat up a female boxer he was training and he's facing possibly some jail time.. For Mayweather to be at his best he needs his uncle by his side. He knows it and that's why the fight was dropped for Pac-Man.. The trial was supposed to be in Aug, then got delayed to Oct, now til Jan.. With this up in the air, Mayweather will not sign anything.

furthermore, the way he broke down Sugar Shane Mosley doesn't hold as much ground anymore.. Sugar Shane fought Sergio Mora, who's just a winner from the Contender Show.. Mosley put on a paltry display.. Actually at the time of the Mayweather fight, he was rated as pound for pound no3.. Now he's way off that list.. Finished. Not because of Mayweather, just because he got old very fast. A shame really, since he'll probably fight Pacman if the Mayweather fight never happens.. He's lose by a long margin, but it'll be sold as the next best thing.
