What is there to feel bad about? A joke is a joke regardless of circumstances. For me to feel bad, I'd have to genuinely have wished negativity on the woman and I still don't. In fact, I wish her well. Don't infer malice where there is none.

Strange how humour is most perverse when circumstances terrible. Squaddie humour ring any bells? Humour is a survival mechanism, it's a part of human existentialism. Therefore when it comes to humour nothing should be off limits; we either have the ability to laugh at things or we don't.

Remember, offense is taken not given. If you're going to get offended over stupid things, then I'm going to do my best to antagonise you until you realise that you're being stupid and stop taking offense where none was ever intended.

In all seriousness it really is a horrific incident, RIP to all of them. Congresswoman and a federal judge hit? Thank goodness Arizona has the death penalty (iirc), this guy deserves it 13 times over.

You mean the suspect Jared Lee Loughner is an alleged outspoken atheist

Don't forget that atheism in the USA is looked down on harshly, so it's quite possible for that to be thrown around without any proper cause.

As I said my guess was it was a right wing christian thing, as the victim was a high profile opponent of them. But I certainly could be wrong!
