Massive dilemma - 680 OR 7970

Jay what performance increase did you see from when you received your 680 and what its overclocked to, did you see a big FPS difference

Well i only really benched it on heaven 2.5 and played gta4 but my fps on gta4 went from 48-54fps to around 55-70fps depending on the area. I am using ENB series mod aswel on the game.

The heaven score was more noticeable, jumping from 1800 to 2088 on mu current overclock.

Because I believe it's the fastest card on the planet.

First you recommended it because it's the fastest card on the planet.

When I said that's debatable but it has the edge in BF3 you said you recommended it because it has the edge in BF3.

Now we're back to it being the fastest card on the planet.

You're entitled your opinion as you said, so just pick an option.

I believe it"see the fastest card on the planet and best for battle field 3, how. Much clearer do I have to express my opinion?

Legal aid will provide you with a lawyer.

He needs one ;)

Saying you recommend it because it's the fastest card on the planet, full stop, and then saying you recommended it to the OP because it has the edge in BF3 aren't the same thing.

There are many who'd disagree with you but you've made your opinion clear now.

@ surveyor, please don't be disrespectful, saying I need a lawyer is very rude, just because I have expressed a different opinion to you. I respect your views, please don't disrespect mine

How is it disrespectful and very rude?

arc@css made a tongue in cheek comment and I made a tongue in cheek reply.

And I didn't disrespect your views.

I just couldn't work out exactly what they were.

First the GTX 680 is fastest card in the world, then it has the edge in BF3, then back to it's the fastest card in the world.

No need to apologize, your post brought a smile to my face, it's just that others were not being so humorous.

Ahh, cool. :)

Sometimes I put my foot in it without meaning to. Like the time when a customer said "I've got a complaint", and I replied : "I'm not surprised, you should eat more fresh vegetables". :o :D

With the latest driver, BF3 runs better on 7970 over 680, just saying.

Lol, I used to work in a department stores toy department when a couple of kids came in and started messing about, I shouted at them "it,so not a toy shop you know" me and the kids then just burst out laughing.

my Nephew wants a nvidia card but he only has a Corsair 450 TX PSU which he currently runs his 5870 flawlessly at 950/1275 would this PSU be enough to run a 7970? as he hasn't got enough to get a 680 + PSU so i said to get a 7970 if his PSU is up for it?

so will it be enough or are they more power hungry then a 5870?

The 7970's latest drivers allegedly perform a lot better than those in all the benchmarks but NV's are new and have room for improvement. It's a flip of the coin really although personally I'd go 7970 as it seems slightly better when OC'd and I keep cards for 3+ years so the extra Vram will come in handy at the tail end of that timeframe.

Hi Westie.

Recommended PSU for the 680 is 550w.
