Receiving part of my new pc today but wanting to gen up before everything is complete so would appreceate some advice before hand.

CPU.

Max safe volts under custom water?
Cpu?, SA, vtt, etc or whatever they are called on this board, what can be left on auto and which are the ones to tweak.

And keep hearing about cache, uncore, whats this??

RAM

Max volts for these sticks on air? Do they scale past 1.75v?
Whats best on this platform with these?, and of course if possible

2400 c9
2600 c10
2666+ c11

Any guides or info would be great thanks.

Coming from 3770>3930>4770 if this helps, but not had a PC for 5 months so a bit rusty!!

Found this, but some of the volts seem high??

Which sticks are they???

Initially just overclock multi and uncore. Start at like 45 multi, 42 Uncore multi 1.25 Vcore and Cache volts. Test with all others at stock. SA, IOA, IOD are basically different IMC volts.

1.35v is tops on these chips without modification. The thermals are terrible. With mod 1.4v tops on water.

Sticks are these http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-029-TG&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=1387
So if you have any initial timings that would be great.

Waiting to get my hands on a direct die mount, then i'll be ripping its head off!

Would also like to know about the molex for sli? Got 2 780 classy's heading my way tomoz :D

Thx 8Pack

Are there any optimum setteings for this chip, like straps etc, what on the mvif can help stabilise a higher oc.
Are there any volts settings i can tweak to reduce temps? Basically i'm after a template!
Think i got a bad one!!
Needing 1.3125v for a stable 4.5ghz, temps hitting 84c on aida stabillity, this is delidded/lapped

Whats the way to tell you have a good one? May start binnig.

Still had stability issues at that voltage. Now running at 1.36v, max temp 85c running aida, going well at the moment.
Been running memtest all morning just to rule ram out and thats fine at 2600mhz
Still learning a lot about the board and haswell, its more complex than ivy so will take a while longer to figure out.
And whoever at intel decided to put vrm's on the die need shooting, great for mobile platforms i'm sure, but for overclocking desktops, c'mon intel leave it out ;)

im surprised you didn't test it first to see how well/poor it clocked

then delidded it?

seems around 1.25v -1.3v are the decent clocking chips

I perhaps should but i took the risk, i dont like sending things back that work as they should, we all know the risk in the silicone lottery and i'd rather sell it on at my cost not ocuk's, they have been good to me and i want to keep it that way.

how you finding the Formula?

Topman :)

Your prezzie is wrapped ready to go :D

Ooo thx neil, cant wait, but will only be able to use about 0.02v until i can get blocks :(

A firm believer in this kind of attitude. I even feel like **** if I have to DSR something that came with freebies that I'd already used :(

4.6ghz bundle ordered on a Gigabyte Z87X-OC with an EK Supremacy waterblock.

A shame the only option is to come with Kingston 1866mhz CL11 junk, guess I'll stick my head into CS and see if they can swap it out for some of the TG 2600 CL10 stuff :)

Wonder if they would sell a chip on its own??
You will have a lot of fun tweaking paul, so many ways of doing things, shame there a small furnace.

Had my ram running at 2700 c10 tight, took about 2 clicks in bios, too busy playing with gfx :D got my cpu running 4.57 but the requires 1.41v  temps are fine though for benching

I shall ask tomorrow, you never know.
I shall have a play with the sticks tomorrow whilst waiting for new monitor to arrive. Unfortunately memtweakit does not work with haswell, so its gotta be done in the bios which is a pita.
Know anywhere that make rad boxes???

Yeah never used it though. Good thing about memtweakit is you can alter/tweak in os and test and if it fails, pc reboots from original bios settings, no clearing cmos!! Or boot looping, its fantastic piece of software.

Not sure on rads, all i know is that i cant get enough in my case too cool my gpu's, they run a lot hotter than the 7970 ltg's

Simple Bin 1.3v core volts. Disable HTT. DDR1600 9-9-9-28 1T. All other voltages stock. CPU Ratio 50 does it boot windows. Yes!!! Great CPU. 4.9-4.8 OK CPU. Less JUNK!!! Done. 5.0ghz 1.25v top 3-4%, 5.0ghz 1.225v top 1%. The 1.25v are 6.4+ LN2 in my experience the 1.225 are 6.5+ LN2.

tried this upto 1.35v still no go!!

tell mines a dog, needs 1.36v for 4.5ghz :( I WANT A NEW ONE!!!

just tried to get one of the cpu's from the bundle but there having none of it :( gutted.
what i dont get, can they just look at the packaging and pick out batch numbers of known good clockers??? if they do then thats not fair, at all.

They will most likely bin oem chips, retail always stays in a sealed package, oem however is open, notice how they have bundles ranging from 4.2 to 4.6ghz, 4.2 chips wouldn't have cut the grade the 4.6 chips did, as such were allocated to certain bundles and probably why the 4.6 bundle commands such a hefty premium as going by 8 packs method above they may only see maybe 5 chips in every 100 hit those target frequencies.

If my bundle is as good as I hope it is nick, sell your stuff and buy one :)

what mobo, the lot??? could i just dsr my mobo??
