MaxDSL training - What can I do?

My eclipse connection has been regraded today. Am I right in saying that I'm now in this 10 day period while my max speed is worked out?

Is there anything I can do to improve the final speed it decides? A friend suggested leave the machine on from 12am to 7am and find some big file to download? I could download some torrent files but am I right in thinking that the ISPs see that its a torrent being downloaded and do something to it to slow it down.

Or just use the net as per usual - don't play games online (yet) just forums and fleebay.

as far as i know just use your connection as normal , ive been on max since 10/04 and i didnt do anything special. As for port throtterling on p2p thats down to the individal ISP , some do and some dont and some say they dont but actually are. I believe the only real rule is leave the connection live 24/7 so dont turn router off in first 10days if using one of them. The max will only give you what your line can handle so dont try to fool it as it will just become unstable and will if like my line just resynch overnight anyway when the connection isnt in use.

Just my view on things after a months max
