Hi Guys,

Considering this tax year is nearly over I know theres gonna be a few threads relating to ISAs and savings in general. Ive had a quick search but theres nothing Ive found on Maxi ISAs in general and as they are strictly regulated it seems to me pretty hard to find decent independent info about how good they are and if they do offer anything better than the Mini ISAs other than the ability to save a larger sum of money, but also with additional potential risk.

Basically Im in the position where I am considering putting away some money for my future and hopefully wont require the ability to touch it unless its an emergency or a rainy day. I was definitely considering getting a £3000 Mini cash ISA this tax year, but while I have the disposable income I was thinking it might be worth me saving more now while I can so I was thinking of going for a Maxi ISA instead...

Anyone have a Maxi ISA here (and with whom?) and if you have how did you decide to invest the £4000 component of the ISA - high/low risk?!? Hoping there are a good few links that I can read so if I decide to get a Maxi ISA I know its the right decision to make. I really wish I had thought about this earlier, but its only since I opened a savings account with Alliance and Leicester that I thought I might aswell get into proper saving when I have the means to do it. Ive just had a quick chat at the A+L and theyve given me some prospecti (sp?!?) from the Legal and General who administer their Maxi ISAs - I just didnt think it would be so complicated...

Also is an ISA the best way to invest money at the moment, Im not looking to touch it and dont want too much risk attached - I would consider premium bonds but the possible returns arent tempting enough...

Cheers for any help
