Hi - I have had my self build for around 5 to 6 years now. The other day I noted that the fan leds we’re switching off and on and the fans were starting up and stopping and starting up again. I had to hold the power button down to turn off the machine. Now when I start it I get no display / no bios:(

things have tried:

1. Changed PSU - no change
2. Changed CPU - I bought a cheap haswell pentium - no change
3 moved ram around and only used a single stick - no change
4. Took out nvidia 1060 and tried on aboard - no change
5. Checked all connectors - not change....
6. Tried a different monitor

Any other suggestions? Or would you concur that the motherboard is knackered?

if I were to buy anew I think I would also replace the PSU more permanently - not sure it is the cause by any stretch - but it is a Corsair HX620 - so around 12 years old.

It’s been a good pc - but I do feel a little short change @ 5+ years

Spec
Corsair hx620
Asus maximums vii ranger
16g Corsair 1600 DDR 3
500g wd nvme
500g Samsung 860 SSD
256pro Samsung SSD
250g Samsung SSD
4tb HD’s
2tb had
1 x wifi6 tplink pcie card

So the two questions are:

1 any other things I can try to get this thing working again please?
2. If I can’t get it working would it be a fair assumption that the CPU and ram are still ok? So that I can move them on?

many thanks
