Hi guys,
Something I have never really looked into and thus dont understand, what benefit comes from watercooling the mobo chipset?

Mine seem to stay between 30 and 40c no matter what use it gets, so what exactly will I gain from lowering this with water?
With CPU/GPU its obvious, but to me, not so with chipsets and power regs.

Please advise.

I used to when i was on 775 as some of the chipsets got really hot when overclocking. I originally did with this P55 board as well but removed the chipset block when i changed cases. The chipset hardly gets warm now and it's only the small flat star shaped stock cooler. I was really surprised.

Hi Guys,
Been doing a lot of research on this one last night and will be doing a lot of datalogging to ascertain whether its worthwhile or not. It seems on a lot of Mobo's it can be very beneficial for safety when pushing the board very hard, but on my extreme-Z maybe not so important.

Perhaps the most comprehensive info I have found is this, well worth a read.
