Maximus Hero XIII PCIe 4.0

Hi All, I have installed 4 NVMe drives my SN850 requires PCIe 4 x4 for max speed my other drive 970 plus is sitting in M2.2 slot which shares lanes with the PCIe slots 1 and 2.
As a result my VGA card is now running at x8 with this M.2 slot enabled, question is to save me taking out one of my older drives to un populate that M.2 slot free up the PCIe bandwidth is there any real world difference at 1440p with my 3090 running at x8 or x16...

Pcie 4 x 8 is pcie3 x16 which is about 5% performance diffrence depending on game.

Thanks mate, further reading at 1440p difference between PCIe 4.0 x8 and x16, is around 1%, a lot of the time they were the same!
