I've got a fan controller which takes 3 pin connections.

However, all my fans are 4 pins, I'm not really up for replacing them all, so I figured I could use 4->3 pin converters, however I cannot find any which go that way.

I've got 2 here now, and the only way i can get it to work is with a bluetac type solution, which I don't think is very durable/safe. Am I going mad, or are there no adapters which go this way?

Edit.. I think what a I need a female to female 3 pin extension cables, so I can connect a 3 -> 4 pin adapter to the fan controller.. however I cannot find anywhere to buy these. Will see if I can make one :S

i dont think they make them, they do 3 pin to molex but not the other way.

Best bet would be to find some 3 pin cables from old broken fans and soldering them on.

most good fans come as 3 pins with an adapter that allows you to connect them to molex.

that should work, however the molex connector is still required.

as the 3pin connector on that cable only allows control of the speed not provide power ar the same time

lol ;)

Just took another look at it... I don't think that one is gonna work though, as like jackass said, it looks like it needs the molex too :S
