Mayday emergency captured by colleague as birdstrike destroys 757's engine on takeoff

If you have a fear of flying this video may or maynot be something you want to watch but it is 100% real , It was taken on April 29th by a colleague of mine Simon Lowe at Manchester airport & he just happened to be in the right place at the right time.

It captures a full mayday emergency as a Thompson Boeing 757 departed Manchester's runway 06L & had a birdstrike (two large Herons) which destroyed No2 engine at the most critical point as it just lifted off.

It just goes to show how safe modern aircraft can be & the skill of the flight crew & emergency services & the only casualty was a few million pounds of RollsRoyce engine.

This just proves that there's no such thing as a perfectly good plane, yet another reason to take up skydiving. Godamn it, since FF's gone I am the only one left pimping skydiving...come on guys, get jumping lol.

It was probably un-ignited fuel vapour, exploding as it hit the hot parts at the back of the engine.
