Mcdonalds - I was lovin' it

So me eating a butcher bought sirloin steak with garlic mushrooms and green beans once a week is the same as tucking into a super sized McDonald's every night now is it?

Subways is just as unhealthy with the amount of corn starch they use in their bread. I used to try and have subways instead of mcdonalds or KFC, but after I found that out, i'd rather just have KFC / Mc Donalds.

Being vegetarian doesnt make fast food any healthier, if you actually want healthy fast food, go to the supermarket, buy a salad bowl and discard the sauce packets that come in them. Chinken / Meat is fine if you grill instead of frying it.

I only have KFC or Mcdonalds 1 or 2 times a month, plus lots of frozen pizzas, and I'm not fat.

I also have lots of fruit and veg.

It was my understanding that being a vegetarian was no more healthy than eating meat.

Fish, Chicken and Pork are very healthy and lean meats. As long as they arent fried they can have a very low fat content. Plus, high biological value Protein found in meats is very important for growing children. If anyone actually doesnt let their children eat meat regularly (about 3 non processed meat based meals per week minimum), then they are stupidly terrible parents.

That video was just plain stupid and only thing it highlights is its own ignorance towards nutrition and diet as a whole not to mention that it's misleading, vegetarian food can be just as bad as the meat option.

I was looking at the Double quarter pounder with cheese. Macdonalds is going to be across the road from the club I'm going to on Thursday. I was wondering what I should order there.

I don't think they do the double quarter pounder in england. Please correct me if I'm wrong and give me the address of my nearest McDonald's.

/Just kidding. I basically live there.

What a load of ****, bloody preaching vegetarians. Of course it's bad for you if you sit on your arse all day playing xbox and eating McDonald's for breakfast lunch and tea. There's a guy who comes into our place twice a day to do all his work and he seems absolutely fine, always see him jogging around the neighbourhood and stuff and this is on like, 14 McD's a week?

Isnt their some guy that eats a Big Mac Everyday and he is like stick thin

Moderation, if someone wants to eat KFC for lunch, Mcdonalds for dinner, its their choice

That video is disgusting and reminds me of greenpeace crap.

He came to prominence for having eaten over 23,000 Big Mac hamburgers from the U.S. fast food chain McDonald's in his lifetime, [1] subsequently winning a place in the 2006 Guinness Book of Records. He claims the Big Mac constitutes 90% of his total solid food intake. He is featured in the documentaries Super Size Me (2004) and Don Gorske: Mac Daddy (2005). He is the author of 22,477 Big Macs (2008).

The advert targets all bad forms of fast food. The producers simply chose McDonalds because they're so recognisable.

The PCRM's director of nutrition education, Susan Levin, made no apologies for singling out the golden arches: "McDonald's is one of the biggest fast-food chains in the world. Its name and its golden arches are instantly recognisable. We feel we're making a point about all fast food when we talk about McDonald's."

I only go to McD's if i'm working in London.

It's quick and tasty! :D

I eat about 2-3 every fortnight which i don't think is that bad, but i'm leaving in 3 weeks so no more Big Mac's :(

It was my understanding that being a vegetarian was no more healthy than eating meat.

It depends but there's nothing inherently better or worse about being vegetarian than omnivorous - providing you eat a variety of foods in a reasonably healthy balanced diet then you should be fine. It can be more difficult to get all the vitamins and minerals etc in a vegetarian diet but generally you'll be exposed to less fatty foods than you might normally expect as an omnivore. I'd say it tends to even itself out in terms of positives and negatives.

I suppose for a significant number of vegetarians they are more aware of their diets due to choosing not to eat meat and because of the attention they pay to it may have slightly healthier diets but that's really correlation rather than causation.

I'm not sure the advert does anyone any favours really, it's just reinforcing a stereotype of vegetarians as preaching about their food choices and it's not as if most people don't know that eating fast food to excess is ultimately not very good for you.
