mce with sky and hd

wondering what issues im going to face if i put an mce machine together to work sky and be able to upscale...in fact im not even sure if you output the picture via the graphics card or the tuner?....ok..i know it will need an hdmi interface to allow for encrypted material....but on the tuner or graphics card?


also...what options do you have to change the bitrates on the recordings...is it just the usual low medium and high options or can u manually adjust it as high as you want?

also does the media centre remote change the sky channels or do u still use the sky remote?

How are you setting up you mce centre with sky?
what tv card do you have?
what graphics card?
How do you set it up what connections will i require?
Do i needs a ci slot/cam fitted?
 
havent put it together yet as im not sure it will work....... currently have a crt which i know is a big hurdle...but if i know it will work the way i want it then i would get an hd for it..i want to know if it will be as seemless as my tivo...
