With a rouge vibration occuring in my Range Rover a classic problem and a pain to find, I need to change some bushes on her. With a main dealer hourly rate of £95 an hour before vat and my "love" of fixing my own cars I always like to spend what I would have paid on labour on tools that I can use again and again.

Having to fit 6 radius arm bushes, 2 Panhard rod bushes, a drag link with rod ends, a steering rod with rod ends and a new damper I needed a press and a Land Rover tool to seat the bush.

I am therefor the proud owner of this beauty, a 10ton hydrolic press from the bay of E for a bargain £109!!!!

Thankfully the misses is into cars/bikes and getting her hands dirty so she is cool with random heavy things turning up

I like new tools :D so is it just me or does anyone else like stocking up on tools?

I am resisting the urge to go crush some random objects :p

If I had more space the bench grinder, combi lathe/milling machine that I keep eyeing up would be mine. God I miss working at an engineering company, with every tool at my disposal.

I think I am turning into Tim Alan from home improvements (without quiet so many disasters)

I do like the idea of spending what the labour would have cost, on tools.

I like making tools too, specialist stuff that you can't actually buy, or costs too much for what it is.

Indeed thats why I miss having a lathe and milling machine as you can fabricate anything then.

Yep love tools, however got limited room left in my parents garage. I was going to get an air compressor, but there's just not enough room. To many wheels and to much interior stacked up in there as well as random heavy gauge metal cross members, panels etc.

Oh and yes we need some crushed random objects, you better not cheat on the misses other wise the nuts might be cracked :D

nice press, is over a £100 good price for one?

I love tools, I have recently enrolled on a plumbing course and a friends dad has just given me a pipe bender, retails at £50 from screwfix or B&Q. So im pleased saved buying one

Cillit BANG!

Limescale? Rust? Ground-in dirt?

You bet, top notch for cleaning engine bays and for dirty motorbike wheels

That is something else I have been keeping an eye on. Having a socket hammer gun thingy would make life so much easier, when you haven't a car lift you can't get a breaker bar in on tough nuts so one of these would be ideal.

Not to mention the fact air tools are so cheap as have limited parts to them.

There was some fantastic 3hp 150ltr ones on ebay recently for £250 but they sold out but they have some 50ltr 3hp ones left for £89.

Although a bit smaller, bar using them for lots of painting they will cover most tools as even if the charge rate isn't up to it as long as your not running it constantly the compressor can catch up. Although some of the manly impact tools need a hefty cfm rate that the cheaper ones can't hack.

Trying to find a good electric one which uses oil (the non oil ones burn out afte a while) seems a tall order but the £89 one seems cheap enough for a gamble and they have sold 700 of the blighters and have loads of good feedback about them

Toooooooooooooooooooooooooools lol

Unfortunatly im the same, If I see tools that look a bargain, I buy them even if im unlikely to use them.
Never thought about a press before, would have been very handy in the past though.

Speaking of tools, can someone spec me a sandblasting gun set up on ebay?
Not looking for one with a cabinet and all that, just the gun, as said above ill just use a diy tent/tank.
Iv just bought a 100l compressor, so handy to have, big step up from the 25litre i had.
