Medal of Honour Pacific Assault- On the house

I've had a quick search for a thread about this but can't see one so just a heads up that MoH Pacific Assault is free on Origin. It's one of the last good MoH games on PC (or second good game, depending on how you look at it!) before the series went downhill with Airborne and the Reboot.

It is actually a breath of fresh air after a lot of modern and future setting shooters! It doesn't even look completely terrible.

Actually the game is very much on rails compared to what it was originally intended to be, originally it was meant to be a pretty open world with multiple routes to complete objectives. At some point this was kicked in the head then they incorporated the fire control system mimicking brothers in arms that was released a few months previous.

Most of that in the video was scrapped and it became an on rails shooter, needles to say it was a big disappointment to the Allied Assault fanbase comparing what was promised to what was delivered. There was a rumour that the entire project got scrapped and started from scratch as it came out a year or more after it was meant to iirc.

As a shooter its ok but not what it was meant to be.

Yeah only story mode, plus resolutions are very limited.

Note: You have to run game at least once in order to generate necessary config files.
Go to %USERPROFILE%\Documents\EA Games\Medal of Honor Pacific Assault(tm)
Open newconfig.cfg in text editor (notepad for example).
Locate lines set r_screenheight "XXXX" and set r_screenwidth "XXXX" and change XXXX to your resolution.

Crikey how graphics have come on since 2004 lol shame they don't update this game for 2016 because the story's quite good audio is still passable too.
Making me want to play a new ww2 game now though
