I've got a bit of a problem playing media files directly from my NAS device on my laptop. When playing in windows media player the files tend to stutter if I access them directly on the mapped network drive on the NAS. This doesn't happen if the laptop is in the same room as the router.
I've sorted a bit of a workaround, using On2Share to stream the files. Would be nice not to have to do this though.
Is it just that the range on my router is crap? It's a BT home hub. The NAS is a lacie ethernet mini.
