Hi dudes.

Yes its ANOTHER spec me a 2k car thread.

Ok, Im looking for something a little bit odd maybe, it will be a 3 days a week to the station, 2 to Glasow an dthen maybe a run at the weekend with kids bikes and toys and malarkey off somewhere. We have the dreaded Picasso which is the Missus's car and the long distance motor BUT I hate it so want a car I can take the kids off in while Ms does here nails/hair/eyebrows or goes shopping.

So far I have found:

1997 SUBARU FORESTER 2.0 AWD GLS 5dr Estate 105000 and 1750.00
1995 VOLVO 850 2.5 S 5dr 10v Estate 1850.00
1997 MITSUBISHI GALANT 2.0 GLS 1750.00
1996 VOLVO 850 Se Auto Estate 1000.00
1998 SUBARU Legacy 2.5 AWD Estate 1995.00
1998 VOLVO V40 1.8 SE 5dr [122bhp] Estate 97000 1650.00
1997 P Reg SUBARU IMPREZA 2.0 Sport 4WD 5dr ESTATE 1450

Please not ethese are not indicative what age and model I will buy as obviosly Im going to try and get as much bang for my buck as possible, these are to give an idea of what Im looking at.
Im liking the forester a lot as well as the Impreza estate although I know the imprezza boot is quite wee, always get a bike rack.

TBH, Im not interested in a Mondeo, had a look over and drive in a mk2 2.0 petrol ghia and just didnt like it.

So let the flaming and I hope some usefull comments re the cars above begin.

Oh and Im binning the AX with a view to getting a old mini to turn into a monte carlo replica. Muwahwah!

I know, he must have looked at a crap one (there are LOADS of abused, crap ones about) as mine is dead comfy, lots of stuff in it (not as much as the Ghia X i had before though) and it handles OK considering the chassis.

I know, I have a Mondeo ;) and was going to recommend one until I saw that.

Galant. Absolutely superb car for the price. Drives fantastic, great reliability and unlike anything else in modern bangernomics they still look very good.
I'm actually tempted to get one myself now that they reached rock bottom prices.

Can good ones be had for under £2k. I have always thought them to be great looking cars (not the really old ones)

Was a great condition one actually, just dont float my boat in the looks/style or anything dept.
If I could afford a mk3 tdci may be a different story.

I quite like that galant shape bt for now Im loving that forester.
