maybe he can be unbanned for a day or so ?

seeing as its now all out in the open he can be given the chance to put things right before police/courts get involved.

besides the excuses can be a bit funny at times....i iz not a shop :p

Best of luck with this. However, it seems excessive for £55. I know what he did was wrong, and he shouldn't be allowed to get away with it, but is it worth the hassle?

hell yes ! plus filling in a form and submitting it is hardly hassle ! if he gets away with it this time he will most likely continue to rip off others

At least I will have the satisfaction that I did everything within my power and I won't feel like an idiot for being conned and do nothing about it. Even if I don't get the money back he will still have a CCJ at least.

Good on you , too many people let things go these days

Do you know where he lives?! Why dont you put his address up and offer some one £40 to go round and recover the money one way or another. Happened on another forum im a member of, just some one knocking on the door had him pay up quicker than you can say "I didnt mean to rip you off guvner".

Who is the scammer? I want to know so I don't have issues in MM with them. Why can they not be named? OP did you basically pay and receive nothing back?

police wont do very much for £55 you can use moneyclaim online to file with the courts, but really is it worth it, if he doesnt pay the ccj your hardly going to get bailiffs for £55

oh and this isnt america so you cant claim for emotional distress

This is wrong, when i was scammed out of £50 over on MM, I went to the police first off told there was nothing they could do, basically fobbed me of. I then went back and made my case and stood my ground, they chased and about a month later i had a refund.

His real name was in the original post. I'm not sure if the modedit was to remove that, or to remove that and his banned alias on the OcUK forums. Possibly there's a members market rule about naming people and the dons want to wait to give it time, I'm not sure. The members market rules are quite arcane, and I generally have to read through very carefully before I go there.

Was it someone with a low or 0 trust score? Things like this really put me off using the MM. Hope you get it sorted mate and good on you for standing your ground rather than letting it go.

I've used it many a time with no issue, its no different than using Ebay really

Theres always the 'what if' factor though, sadly its happened to the OP :(
