Hi, i have a gigabyte ud5, 2600k and 2*4 vengence memory. I have recently built this rig (not overclocked yet). The memory auto runs at 1333mhz and i have been trying to get it to run at 1600mhz. I have set to xmp in the bios and it changes to the right speed but will not boot or boots ocaisionally. My pc is rock solid stable otherwise. I have tried it with the old bios F2 and the latest F6. This is not a B3 board. Oh, and i have but the timmings in manually to (1.5V). I can not wait ot overclock but want to sort this issue out first. Please can you give me any help or advice on this matter. sooooo frustrating.

Change all of them settings back to 'auto' and try changing the ram speed to 1600, this is what I did on the ud7 and it's worked fine on every bios update I've used.

It is a very simple process to set your ram to 1600 MHz - as CR416 suggested.
How I would do is this.

Revert my settings to default.
Go into the memory option and select 1600MHz. Done deal as they say.

Thanks for you replies.

Orcvader my memory is corsair vengence 2*4 gig.

cr416,1day i have tried using auto settings and manual settings. i will try again but i am at work at the moment:o

I am really at a loss. i picked this memory specially for its compatibility with my other components.

Hi I don't want to hijack your thread but I am having almost the same problem and am pulling my hair out. Im running a i7 960 on a ud7 currently at stock speeds. I have memory Corsair XMS3 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz bought from Overclockers but I cannot get it to run at the stated speed.

The ratio by default is setting to 1066 and I seem to be able to get up to 1333 stable by upping the ration to 2:10. If I enable extreme memory profile though or try manually increasing to 2:12 the system becomes unstable and locks up sometimes quickly sometimes after 20 mins or so.

I too want to overclock and can get the CPU to 4ghz quite stable but the memory always causes me problems hence I thought I would try getting everything working a stock speeds. I've tried nudging the Dram Voltage as high as 1.68 and the the QPI in one step increments from 1.275 to 1.475 but still the system crashes even with everything else at stock speeds. I could really use some help here.
